It can effectively absorb harmful smoke and toxic volatile gases. There are many precautions in the use of ductless laboratory fume hoods.
1. Keep the acrylic transparent board of the fume hood clean, and do not post articles such as paper to prevent blurred vision.
2. When there is no experimental operation, chemical reagents cannot be placed in the fume hood. Be sure to store the reagent in the medicine cabinet.
3. Be sure to operate according to the chemicals marked on the upper right of the air purifying fume hood, and do not use chemicals not listed.
4. As long as the experiment of toxic chemicals is carried out, it must be carried out in the fume hood. Remember to wear simple protective equipment such as goggles and protective gloves. Clean the test table and instruments in time after operation.
5. Check whether the filter is saturated regularly and contact the manufacturer to replace the filter in time. Otherwise, once the filter is saturated and not replaced in time, it will lose its protective effect.
6. Do not stack sundries in the fume hood, so as to avoid uneven air flow and failure to reach the appropriate surface wind speed, resulting in the decline of adsorption efficiency.
7. When using the fume hood, do not move the fume hood, and do not put your head into the fume hood for experiment. The distance between people and the fume hood shall be at least 15cm
8. After the experiment, the fume hood should be kept running for more than five minutes to ensure that all the toxic gases remaining in the fume hood are absorbed by the filter.
9. The space around the fume hood should be spacious and comfortable, because crowded filtration will cause uneven air flow. Other instruments and equipment should be more than 15cm away from the fume hood.
The fume hood has always been a headache, from the consumption of a large amount of energy to the impact on the environment, as well as the limitations of installation and expensive future maintenance costs. For many laboratories today, fume hoods are an unavoidable burden. In order to solve the problem of green energy conservation and emission reduction in the laboratory, the ductless air purifying fume hood came into being.
The traditional exhaust fume hood is constantly consuming energy consumption, while the main advantage of the ductless clean air fume hood is energy saving, without external pipes, without consuming fresh air of air conditioning in the laboratory, and saving energy consumption. Another significant advantage is that when the ductless fume hood is installed in the new laboratory, there is no need to design additional pipeline works (including the fume hood air supplement system), which can save a lot of costs and facilitate movement. The third point is: when the fume hood air supplement system purifies the laboratory air with an air handling capacity of 800m3/h, it has four filtering modules, and the air handling capacity of each module is 200mm3/h, so as to ensure that the indoor air is always clean, non-toxic and protect personnel safety. At present, 70% of the operations in the chemical laboratory can be carried out in the tubeless air purifying fume hood, which mainly depends on the type, quantity and frequency of chemicals used. Generally speaking, the average service life of the filter is 2 to 3 years when it is operated in the tubeless air purifying fume hood, and the cost of the filter consumed every year is 1/10 of the energy wasted by the exhaust fume hood every year.
