First of all, when conducting toxic chemical experiments in the test, it must be carried out in the fume hood. The experimental personnel should also wear protective gloves, goggles and other simple protective articles. Clean the test table and instruments in time after the operation. At the same time, the fume hood cannot be closed immediately after the experiment, and it should be kept running for more than five minutes to ensure that the residual toxic gas in the fume hood has been absorbed by the filter before it can be closed, otherwise the residual toxic gas in the fume hood will permeate out and affect the physical safety of the experimental personnel.
When the fume hood starts to operate, it cannot be moved, nor can the head be put into the fume hood for experiment. The operator should be more than 15cm away from the fume hood. In order to ensure its normal operation and eliminate toxic gases, there should be no other instruments and equipment around it. At the same time, the surrounding space should be very spacious and comfortable, and there should be no filtering congestion, otherwise it will cause uneven air flow, and toxic gases cannot be eliminated, and outdoor fresh air cannot enter the laboratory.
Fume hoods can be divided into two types: external discharge type and ductless type. The ductless fume hood directly adsorbs the toxic and harmful gases produced by the experimental operation with the activated carbon filter, which is different from the discharge type. Therefore, after using it for a period of time, it is necessary to regularly check whether the filter is saturated. If it is saturated, the manufacturer should be contacted in time to replace the filter, because the saturated filter cannot work normally, the toxic gases cannot be absorbed, and the protective effect cannot be achieved.
When using ductless fume hood, keep its acrylic transparent board clean, do not post paper and other items, and ensure a clear line of sight. When using, be sure to operate according to the chemicals marked on the upper right of the ventilation cabinet. Do not use the chemicals not listed. Generally, when there is no experimental operation, the experimental chemical reagents should be stored in the medicine cabinet, which cannot be placed in the ventilation cabinet.
